  This will work on Linux Mint 18, Linux Mint 19, Ubuntu, Ubuntu with Cinnamon Desktop Environment and other Linux systems using the NVidia drivers.
  • Open your application menu
  • Search "nvidia": You'll find "NVIDIA X Server Settings" – click that
  • Turn off Dithering: I found it under GPU 0 – (your GeForce name) -> DFP-0 (your monitor name)  Repeat for all monitors.
  • Turn off Flipping: X Screen 0 -> OpenGL Settings -> Allow Flipping (uncheck)
